New Patients

We at Central Park West Orthodontics will provide you with excellent treatment and service. Our facility is equipped with the latest technology that will help ensure you or your child obtain the smile you have always wanted. If you are interested in orthodontic treatment but are not quite sure where to start, schedule a first visit at our practice. At Central Park West Orthodontics we will provide you with a better understanding of what treatment you or your child may need.

First Visit

Your first visit starts off with a friendly smile, introductions to our team and a tour of our facility. The orthodontic evaluation may then begin with facial photos and a panoramic radiographic that will help the doctors determine if you or your child are ready to start treatment. During the visit our Treatment Coordinator and Doctor will discuss with you the type of treatment you or your child will need and address any questions or concerns you may have. We will also discuss with you the finances associated with treatment. We offer payment options and will help with insurance submission.

If  ready to start orthodontic treatment and you would like to start the same day, we will be able to obtain any additional records needed for treatment.  We will also schedule any needed follow up appointments.

Scheduling Treatment Visits

Once treatment has begun, regular visits are important to help achieve success with orthodontic care. Regular visits range between 15 to 40 minutes. Checkup visits may be scheduled every 4 to 8 weeks based on you or your child’s treatment. Our practice will help you with scheduling the visits to secure a time that will work best for you!

We are looking forward to hearing from you.

Patient Forms

To save time during your appointment, please complete the following forms.  Once completed they can be printed and brought with you to the office.

Orthodontics

How do I Know if I Need Orthodontics?

Only your dentist or orthodontist can determine whether you can benefit from orthodontics. Based on diagnostic tools that include a full dental health history, a clinical exam, study models of your teeth, a panoramic x-ray, a cephalometric (side jaw) x-ray and photographs, an orthodontist can decide whether orthodontics are recommended, and develop a treatment plan that’s right for you.
If you have any of the following, you may be a candidate for orthodontic treatment:
• Overbite, sometimes called “buck teeth” — where the upper front teeth lie too far forward (stick out) over the lower teeth
• Underbite — where the lower teeth are too far forward or the upper teeth too far back
• Crossbite — when the upper teeth bite behind the lower teeth when biting together normally
• Openbite — space between the biting surfaces of the front and/or side teeth when the back teeth bite together
• Non-Coincident midline— when the center of your upper front teeth does not line up with the center of your lower front teeth
• Spacing — gaps, or spaces, between the teeth as a result of missing teeth or teeth that do not “fill up” the mouth
• Crowding — when there are too many teeth for the dental ridge to accommodate
• Missing Lateral Incisors: Congenitally missing upper permanent lateral incisors

How Does Orthodontic Treatment Work?

Many different types of appliances, both fixed and removable, are used to help move teeth, retrain muscles and affect the growth of the jaws. These appliances work by placing gentle pressure on the teeth and jaws. The severity of your problem will determine which orthodontic approach is likely to be the most effective.
